It has been a while since I have shared a true update, so here goes. The overwhelming response to Tay Goes to STEM Camp was affirming, yet unexpected. My earnest intent and desire is to create engaging and timely works that not only support children as they learn to read but also works that encourage their social-emotional growth.
Tay Goes to STEM Camp was fun to make and readers began to express a lot of interest about Tay’s age, and what grade he was in. When will he grow up? Does he have a bad day? They also wanted more depth into his friends and family. At the same time, many STEM-related organizations inquired about more STEM-related books for young readers. This was all encouraging, and I experienced an epiphany; it was time to expand and rebrand.
Seeing a vision brought to life is an incredible feeling. My visions of the Tay Series have morphed and taken on new dimensions. The faithful followers of the series have grown, Tay has grown, and I have grown as a writer. Take a look at some of the changes in the newest title: Tay Learns to Code
As you begin to see new images, slightly maturer characters, and longer text, just know that the vision and purpose of Me On The Page remain constant. We create materials and host events to support healthy children and families. We not only envision children seeing themselves on the pages and saying “Hey, I see me on the page”, but aspiring to become kind citizens and great contributors to our society.
Embrace the joy in your journey!
